New Way Landscape & Tree Services has always dabbled in the art of landscape installation with its Enhancement Division. They have had the capability to enhance the properties they currently maintain, but their latest project was the largest construction undertaking to date.

Meissner Jacquét came to New Way with an idea to beautify Carlsbad Research Center, a 412-acre business park, with approximately 115 lots that are the center of business for thousands of people throughout North County. To embark on such a daunting task, New Way decided to unveil their brand new Construction Division led by Vice President of Construction,  John Martin.  Martin’s first official project with New Way would determine the fate of his division.

Working with landscape architects from KTU&A, Meissner Jacquét had a conceptual design of what would change on the property; New Way Landscape was then chosen to put this design into place. This included taking 52 highly populated street corners and stripping them down to the bare ground in order to amend the soil and then in turn build them back up.

Martin was also tasked with redesigning the entire irrigation system in order to produce adequate and equal rates. The new plant material was centered around a Mediterranean theme to include Bougainvilleas, Richmond Begonias, Flamingo Flax, Heavenly Bamboo and Canary Island Date Palms. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was to plant 20 giant Canary Island Date Palms throughout the property. These 30 ton, 80 year old specimens were hand picked to give each corner a sense of grandeur. Martin employed the use of a crane to set these magnificent trees onto their targets all the while being careful not to impede the people who use the business park on a day to day basis.

With the latest landscape technology, it is easy to see how your upgraded landscape will look without even sticking a shovel in the ground. New Way now utilizes a new software program that will digitally enhance your property. New Way will take digital pictures of your property and insert any plant material you request.

The customer can also hand over creative control to New Way’s design department and let them provide options to improve your existing landscape. This software program allows New Way to select from thousands of different species of plants. Clients can opt for tropical plant material such as Birds of Paradise, Philodendrons, Plumerias, Scheffleras and Pygmy Date Palms. In an effort to keep up with our water conscious environment, clients can select a xeriscape theme consisting of native grasses, Rock Rose, Wild Lilac, Salvias and Phormiums resulting in a more cost effective landscape solution.

These are just a few ideas that our trained staff can assist you with to meet your landscape needs. Whether you are conducting a major landscape renovation like Carlsbad Research Center or just updating your residence, New Way’s Team is fully prepared to share its knowledge and professional experience.
