Happy Environment Equals High Productivity

CLIENT: Wonderware Corporation of Lake Forest, an industrial strength software manufacturer, enjoys the largest installed customer base -- in-house software that orchestrates that company’s task-specific production -- in the industrial automation marketplace.

NEED: Vibrant happy paint colors that create an uplifting pleasant environment in a highly creative and challenging workplace.

CHALLENGE:

The project consisted of two new commercial buildings with approximately 200,000 square feet each of office space. Normal construction delays were experienced but when it came time for finishes those delays dictated accelerated schedules. In addition, the owner decided after weeks into the painting application that they would like to have 12 different accent colors applied at different locations throughout the building as well as wallcoverings installed at each of the painted lobbies.

THE SOLUTION:

The team of Norm Roberts of Taisei Construction and Joel Emery, Estimator, and Hector Cueva,Foreman of General Coatings huddled and came up with a day and night, seven days a week crash schedule. The task was accomplished by careful coordination of office and field personnel at General Coatings, where borrowing painters from other projects and other teams made meeting the deadlines for Wonderware Corporation’s finishes a reality.

THE RESULT:

Wonderware employees saw a dynamic new motivating environment spring to life around them with a minimum of interruption.

THE MORAL:

Do you have a tough, demanding job to do? Call the General Coatings “Dream Team.” They make tough jobs look easy.
